I am a professional photojournalistic/editorial style wedding photographer with a background in photojournalism. My formal education as a studio artist centered primarily around environmental portraiture using 35mm and medium-format film and printing, although currently I do all of my work using digital camera gear. I love photographing weddings in the photojournalistic/editorial style, in part, because it allows me to draw upon all of my photography experience and creative vision. It also provides me with the unique opportunity to be of service to people during one of the oldest and most enduring sacred rites of passage in human history. Plus, it's a lot like photographing news without having to chase people around to get names!
In addition, I have been the official wolf photographer for Wolf Haven International since 1998. It is a tremendous honor and privilege for me (see my wolf photos in the 'FINE ART' section of this site for more information).
Locally, my images have been published in Northwest, AAA Journey, the Peninsula Daily News' Bridal Planner and Sunset magazines, and in newspapers throughout Washington State and beyond including Alaska Airlines and Delta Sky magazines. Additional publications include the 2007 revised edition of Robert Buschs award-winning nonfiction book The Wolf Almanac A Celebration of Wolves and TheThrough my scenic photographic imagery of the Olympic Peninsula and elsewhere, I endeavor to convey timelessness and enduring qualities of everyday life with vibrancy and flair. My style has been described as being frank and ethereal and cinematic. As a full time Olympic Peninsula resident with ties to New England, I am a juried Photography Artist Member of the Rockport Art Association (Massachusetts) and the Blue Whole Gallery in Sequim, Washington where my limited edition fine art prints may be purchased.
